The Tamil Nadu government is set to make property registration easier with its new ‘Presence-less Registration’ system, launching on August 17, 2026. The move, in the first phase, will enable online property registration by flat and plot promoters, bankers and financial institutions eliminating visits to Sub-Registrar offices.
Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary inaugurated this new system introduced by the Department of Prohibition, Excise, and Registration. This move spares the elderly the hassle of visiting registration offices, standing in long queues, or undertaking difficult journeys.
