At Wild Rose, we believe your conversations with AI are private. This Privacy Policy explains how the GemNav Chrome Extension interacts with your data to comply with Google Chrome Web Store Developer Program Policies.

1. Data Collection & Storage

We do not collect, transmit, or store your data on external servers.

GemNav operates entirely locally within your browser. When you use features like organizing folders, extracting prompts, or tracking your "Last 10" chats, that metadata (chat IDs, titles, and folder structures) is saved using Chrome's built-in chrome.storage.local API. It never leaves your computer.

2. Interaction with Gemini Chats

GemNav is designed to respect the integrity of your original Google Gemini history:

No modifications: GemNav does not edit, delete, or rename your existing chats on Google's servers. Actions taken inside the GemNav sidebar only affect GemNav's local folder database.
The 'First Minute' Feature: When you run the 'First Minute' setup, GemNav will automatically create one temporary Gemini chat. This is used exclusively to ask Gemini to categorize your chat history. GemNav does not need that chat after the 'First Minute' operations are completed. However, we will not delete it automatically; you can choose to keep or delete that chat yourself using Gemini's native sidebar.

3. Required Permissions Explained

To provide its core functionality, GemNav requires the following Chrome Extension permissions:

storage: Required to save your custom folder structures, UI settings, and chat lists locally on your machine.
host_permissions (gemini.google.com): Required so the extension can read your chat titles from the sidebar, scan your prompts for extraction, and generate offline HTML downloads of your conversations. GemNav only activates and interacts with pages matching this specific URL.

4. Third-Party Sharing

Because we do not collect your data, we have no data to share. We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information, chat history, or usage habits to third parties. GemNav contains no external tracking scripts or analytics software.

5. Changes to this Policy

If Google updates their platform rules or if we add new features to GemNav that change how local data is processed, we will update this policy accordingly. However, our core philosophy will never change: your data stays on your device.
