Saudi Arabia Halts Energy Sites as Houthis Claim New Attacks
Saudi Arabia halted several energy facilities in the south, as the Iran-backed Houthi militants claimed fresh strikes on the kingdom. The Yemen-based Houthis said they targetedย Saudi Aramcoโs facilities in Abha, Najran and Jazan with ballistic missiles and drones, the groupโs military spokesperson said in a statement. The attacks caused fires at several locations, and efforts were ongoing to contain the blazes, the Saudi energy ministry said on X, without naming the facilities. While the targets appear to include infrastructure that supply the local Saudi demand, repeated attacks on Jazan, where a major refinery is located, are a concern for the oil market.
