This weekend, Paris is hosting the 16th edition of FIFDA, the African Diaspora International Film Festival. From September 4 to 6, 15 films from 13 countries will be screened, spanning fiction and non-fiction, as well as feature-length and short films. The festival provides a space to explore how contemporary societies face and overcome wounds from the past, while giving a voice to members of African diasporas. After years of delays and more than a billion dollars, the long-awaited Lucas Museum of Narrative Art is preparing to open its doors to the public in Los Angeles. The museum, founded by filmmaker George Lucas and his wife, businesswoman Mellody Hobson, will be a new home for visual storytelling spanning the Star Wars universe and beyond.
