This phase will decide the electoral fate of more than half a dozen Ministers of West Bengal government along with Chief Minister and party chairperson Mamata Banerjee
The opening phase includes all 54 seats in north Bengal’s eight districts and several in Murshidabad, Nadia, Birbhum and Hooghly
Voting also held in the federal territory of Puducherry, while West Bengal and Tamil Nadu will vote later this month.
Voting will take place across 1,207 polling stations, including 25 women-friendly booths
The nominations filed will be taken up for scrutiny on April 7 and the last date for withdrawal of nominations, if any, is on April 9
