Quem é Pierre Verger Pierre Fatumbi Verger nasceu em Paris em 1902 e iniciou sua trajetória profissional como fotógrafo viajante. Em 1946 se mudou para Salvador, cidade que nunca deixou de fazer parte de sua vida até sua morte em 1996. Especializou-se na fotografia documental e de campo nas áreas de antropologia, história, conhecimentos orais e botânica. Também foi um grande estudioso da cultura.
