The new stretch has been laid 3-4 km away from Singarapettai High Road to prevent heavy vehicles from entering Tirupattur town to reach other districts
Highways officials said that on an average, five fatal accidents occur on each of the identified black spots on the stretch at regular intervals
Originally given its nod in 2020, the new bridge was jointly done by the Southern Railway and the Projects wing of the State Highways
